Windermere Lake Cruises is located close by and the steamers travel from Lakeside pier to both Bowness and Ambleside up to ten times a day dependant on the season. This service operates all year round and is a top 10 visitor attraction in England. The hotel is also located close to the Aquarium of the Lakes, Haverthwaite Steam Railway and the Lakeland Motor Museum.

Property:

The main building is on three floors and is constructed with rendered elevations beneath slate and flat roof areas. The adjoining buildings are exposed stone and rendered elevations with principally slate roofs.

The building was acquired by our clients in 1992 when there were 17 bedrooms. Although the building is Georgian, dating from 1795, it is unlisted. The extension at the rear, with the leisure centre was added in 1997. The rotunda was added in 2012. In 2018 our clients replaced all the rooms on the top floor, at the same time building the extension to the left of the main building, creating the new lounge with the fire and five new rooms on the first floor and well as all the rooms on the second floor.
