Dorset Council (West Dorset): Darryl Howells has assisted a client to obtain planning permission by way of a “Section 73 application” to vary an approval for a attractive terrace of 6 houses in Bridport that include projecting verandas above the adjacent waterway. The original consent was previously secured by the firm but the Section 73 application amends it by substituting amended drawings.
BCP Council (formerly Borough of Poole): Darryl Howells has won an appeal for a new client, for the erection of a detached bungalow in Merley. The scheme was originally designed by Anders Roberts Cheer and handled by them, but refused on grounds of alleged harm to the character and appearance of the area, harm to the intended occupiers, and harm to occupiers of the dwelling to the north of the proposed bungalow.

BCP Council (formerly Bournemouth): Darryl Howells has secured a successful appeal against a decision of the Council to ‘refuse’ an application to vary drawings numbers to allow for alternative bin provision for a flatted development in a conservation area. The client, Juno Developments originally received planning permission for a block of 8 flats in the centre of Bournemouth, however in those approved plans, the planning officer stated only an internal bin store would be permitted to safeguard visual amenities and prevent harm to the Conservation Area.
