A fast-growing British firm, which makes zero emission boilers, has expanded at Winnersh Triangle in a bid to triple its manufacturing capacity.
tepeo, based at Building 630, has now added 7,874 sq ft of space for R&D and production at Building 670 across the road, in a deal arranged by Campbell Gordon. The firm has recruited engineers and innovators as it ramps up its operations ahead of the ban on gas boilers in 2035.
Johan du Plessis, founder and chief executive of tepeo, said: “Our mission is to become leaders in low-carbon heating solutions. To achieve this we need to increase our manufacturing capabilities so we can build more ZEBs. The new building [670], opposite tepeo’s HQ, will allow for an increase in production, alongside the opportunity to drive innovation and collaboration amongst our team.
“The expansion is not just a success story for the company but a promising development for British manufacturing as a whole. The doubling in size of tepeo’s manufacturing capabilities reflects the increasing demand for low-carbon home heating technology, and is a tangible sign of what the future will hold, both for tepeo and for how we think about home heating.”
Rob Marson, director at Campbell Gordon, said: “We are delighted to have supported tepeo through this crucial phase in their expansion at Winnersh.
“The Greater Reading area has been at the heart of innovation decades, so it is very exciting to working with the next generation of companies building new technologies here and taking a lead globally.
“Alongside green tech innovators we are working with new computing technology companies, pharma businesses and medical science operators all of whom want to establish and grow in the UK’s business innovation capital.”
