Leeds United Foundation have announced a support partnership with Roylemac10 to enable disadvantaged young people in our local community to benefit from Soccer Camps in the school holidays.

As part of the new partnership, Roylemac10 will donate £10 to the club’s official charity for every agreed warranty per individual unit (houses, apartments, and commercial properties) to show their commitment to the city, with the company also offering the same donation to projects built by West Yorkshire registered builders constructing outside the region.

Roylemac10 is a national independent provider of structural building warranties, offering building control services and A rated structural warranty cover to developers, builders, and self-builders. Lee Royle, who owns Roylemac10 alongside Michael McQuade, is the son of footballing legend Joe Royle and it is through Joe’s longstanding friendship with Norman Hunter that Roylemac10 wish to support the communities of Leeds.

The donations made to the charity will initially focus on increasing opportunities for disadvantaged young people to benefit from the Leeds United Foundation Soccer Skill Centres throughout the summer, and it is very much hoped that with the ambitions of Roylemac10 the Leeds United Foundation will be able to provide further support through this scheme across our communities throughout 2021 and beyond.

More than 23% of children aged under 16 live in relative low-income families in Leeds. It was reported in 2019 that 24% of the Lower Super Output Areas (LSOAs) in Leeds were amongst the most deprived 10% nationally and after the costs of housing 56,104 children in Leeds were defined as in poverty by the End Child Poverty campaign. With the impact of the global pandemic this number is unlikely to have improved.

Lee Royle, who is the Director of Roylemac10, said: “All of us at Roylemac10 are honoured to be assisting the Leeds United Foundation in their efforts to serve the community in these testing of times.

“From a personal perspective Norman Hunter embodied everything that is great about Leeds United, and I was so privileged to have spent time in his and his family’s company as a child in the 70’s and whenever our family’s paths crossed in the following years through football.

“I sincerely hope great things can be achieved by this initiative to help the less fortunate find their true potential!”

CEO of the Leeds United Foundation, John Mallalieu, added: “We are delighted to be supported by Roylemac10 in a time where there is most definitely a greater need for extra support for the young people in our city.

“As a charity we are inspired by our communities and we march on together to support health, wellbeing, education, and sports participation for all. Working alongside likeminded leaders such as Lee and Michael, we are able to continue to deliver that goal.”

The partnership between the two organisations is already up and running with a development of new contracts with D Noble Homes in West Yorkshire, bringing 51 new policies to Roylemac10 and an initial donation of £510 to the Leeds United Foundation.
