The Groundscape team have been awarded not one but TWO Richmond in Bloomawards for their landscape maintenance works at Barnes Waterside and Holst Mansions

The Groundscape team have been maintaining Barnes Waterside for 5 years and Holst Mansions since 2017, we continue to deliver outstanding service to the communities here.

It is a credit to our hardworking teams to be awarded these prestigious awards and we will endeavour to continue to deliver our exacting standards to each location.

This interesting site is split between residential, communal, large pond and wildlife areas. They all require different approaches to their maintenance but are kept to a high standard.

To truly deliver excellent service we liaise regularly with board members, residents and Willmotts to discuss all aspects of the gardens. This way we can meet the expectations of all parties from management to residents to achieve functional and beautiful gardens.

We class all areas we maintain as on-going projects. The wildlife corridors are managed on a yearly rotation and we use no chemicals to further support biodiversity. The residence gardens are managed to deliver colour or themes guided by the resident's wishes and we encourage biodiversity at all times. The communal spaces are kept in a manner that is manicured but will sustain safe pedestrian traffic.

Our client Barbara Ritz has kindly supported this great news with the following testimonial which is gratefully received by the Groundscape team.

In 2017 Scotscape Groundscape took over the contract at Holst Mansions in Barnes, a beautiful communal garden on the banks of the river Thames. At the time, our garden was beginning to look a little tired and definitely needed an uplift. Not only do the residents want to enjoy a beautiful garden but the Borough of Richmond organise an annual competition which Holst Mansions had entered into for a few years. When Scotscape Groundscape became our gardeners, Holst Mansions had for the first time just achieved a Gold Award in the prestigious “Richmond in Bloom” competition and we were keen to keep up the standard in the coming years.

Scotscape Groundscape became a keen supporter of our efforts to continue with this high level and happily we have achieved a Gold Award in 2017, 2018 and 2019. As a Director of Holst Mansions and the person who mainly looks after the gardens, working together with Groundscape Management and the gardeners each week has been a pleasure. Their help and support has ensured that we keep our place at the top. The generosity in donating many additional plants has enabled our garden to bloom throughout the seasons and we are now working to win the overall top Gold award in the coming years.

Prior to working at Holst Mansions, The Scotscape Groundscape team had won the contract for Barnes Waterside Estate. Our extensive Estate includes a pond, wildlife corridors, wooded areas and open parkland. The upkeep of the Estate is essential to maintaining the beauty of the area and Scotscape do a first class job looking after all the different elements from coppicing the wildlife corridors and maintaining the pond area, to ensuring that our eco friendly meadow and composting areas are looked after. Richmond in Bloom also awarded the Estate a Gold Award in 2018 in the Eco section of the competition.

Looking after and creating a beautiful garden is a labour of love, Scotscape clearly love our garden and the work they do is much appreciated by all the residents.
