Shortlists Announced for the Eastern Echo Awards

Following a judges’ meeting last week, a shortlist of entries for this year’s Eastern Echo Awards can now be unveiled.
The panel of judges, jointly chaired by UK Property Forums managing director Matthew Battle and chair of LandAid Eastern Regions Nicholas Bewes, met on Friday, May 20 at Bidwells’ Cambridge office.
Friday’s judging lasted two and a half hours and members of the panel left the room when any possible conflict of interests occurred.
The final category of Award for Property Leader or Team of the year will be announced at the awards evening on June 30, as a finale for CamPropFest
Following the meeting, the submissions were whittled down to create a shortlist for each category. The shortlists (alphabetically listed) are as follows:

The judges’ panel consisted of Matthew Battle, managing director of UK Property Forums, Nicholas Bewes, chair of LandAid Eastern Region, John Blair, director of Saunders Boston Architects, Sebastian Conway-Jarrett, Editor of Eastern Echo at UK Property Forums, Emma Drake, director of Henbe, Mark Dujardin, chief executive of Horta Properties, Ron Harris, principal at Ramidus Consulting and Paul Smith, branch manager at Handelsbanken Cambridge.
Matthew Battle, managing director of UK Property Forums said: “On behalf of the judges, we are very excited about the selection of schemes submitted for the awards, especially the range of projects clearly representing the East of England, including Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Colchester, as well as Cambridge being celebrated at the awards.”
