New Starter Training - A Broken Industry Process?
Posted by The Able Agent on 18th June 2021 -
One of the problems, we at Able Agent decided we wanted to solve in the property industry, is that of supporting new staff in their job. Right from the first day at work. This is why we’ve created an Induction course specifically for new estate agents.
What’s Wrong with Previous Methods?
Many of you, who have been in the industry for a number of years, will probably have started in the same way I did! Day one, I was sat next to Nelly and Nelly (rather frustratedly) had to teach me everything she knew about estate agency and lettings!
The problem with this method of training, is that Nelly has undoubtedly developed some bad habits and she too was probably trained by sitting next to someone else!
If training is carried out in this way, one of the biggest risks is that no one is fully confident in their knowledge and experience. Because no one has ever really endorsed that they know what they’re doing. I spent a lot of my career with my fingers crossed, thinking I was right. But no one had ever really confirmed, that I did know what I was doing. That is why I started training – I didn’t want my team to feel like that!
Our Induction Course
Our induction course has been designed to support Managers and take the pressure off their role with a new starter. It also includes a glossary of terms and is a huge reference library. So new starters can ask all the questions they need and find the answer!
So, think about induction….. it’s not only about being compliant and achieving sales results as quickly as possible – but it’s also about giving the new starter confidence, that this career is for them, and they are going to be great at it!
Check out our Induction Course here to make sure your new starters have all they need!
