Global construction technology firm MiTek has announced plans for a new EMEA headquarters at Stoford’s Worcester Six Business Park, in a deal brokered by Colliers’ Industrial & Logistics team.
The supplier of software, services, engineered products, and automated solutions for the construction industry has agreed to purchase a new 278,048 sq ft manufacturing warehouse, subject to planning permission. The deal represents the largest pre-sale in Worcester for more than 20 years.
Industrial developer Stoford has submitted a planning application for a new facility at the southern extension of Worcester Six, near Jct 6 of the M5. If plans are approved, MiTek will acquire the freehold to the building upon its completion, and will service the company’s UK business and wider European business in France, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Norway, Finland and South Africa.
James Morgan, managing director for MiTek's EMEA operations commented:"As demand for offsite construction continues to grow, this building will provide the manufacturing capacity to support the continued growth of our customers across Europe, as well as providing spaces that inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and drive innovation."
Tom Arnold, associate director in the Midland’s Industrial & Logistics team at Colliers, said: “This is a significant deal which has been achieved through the commitment from both parties to create a best in class facility for MiTek to continue their impressive growth within the UK and Europe whilst also bringing longer-term employment opportunities to the region. The existing development is already unlocking the need for well-located manufacturing and logistics space in the UK."
Stoford director Edward Peel said: “This is a hugely significant deal for Worcester Six and a tremendous boost for employment in Worcestershire. MiTek’s commitment to establishing a new headquarters at Worcester Six, supports our vision to extend the business park and improve the site’s deliverability to occupiers.”
