Glenny has secured two major tenants at DP World’s rapidly expanding Logistics Park at London Gateway.
Transmec Group, a strategic supply chain partner for the transport and logistics sector, has signed a pre-lease for a new high specification warehouse of 150,765 sq ft; London City Bond, the UK’s leading bonded warehousing company, has leased a 146,198 sq ft warehouse which is currently under construction.
Located within the Port of London, DP World London Gateway is a 9.25 million sq ft site created for the development of distribution, multi-modal logistics, and manufacturing facilities. Linking 68 countries across six continents, the logistics hub and port handles the biggest container ships in the world, and its combination of a deep-sea port, rail terminal, and logistics park make it one of the UK’s most significant port-centric trade arteries.
Today, both customers and occupiers are capitalising on a growing list of benefits they can access by being a part of the logistics park campus; this includes offering substantial business tax incentives to prospective occupiers in a rapidly expanding operational freeport.
The scale of development potential is unparalleled in scope, with up to 1.6 million sq ft potentially available in a single building. From a wider perspective, London Gateway progressively strengthens the UK logistics market, enabling businesses located there to grow in scale.
Jim O’Connell, Divisional Partner at Glenny, commented: “DP World London Gateway provides energy-efficient and carbon-friendly buildings in a port-centric and multimodal environment with direct access to international markets. Signing up two major tenants of this scale demonstrates the demand for premium warehousing of the highest environmental standard located in an innovative freeport zone.”
DP World London Gateway appointed Glenny, alongside incumbent agent Savills, to market up to six million sq ft of warehousing space at its Logistics Park in 2021.
