Efectis Era Avrasya and İzoder Cooperation Agreement for UKCA Marking

Posted by Efectis on 1st June 2022 -

title

Efectis, Approved Body for UKCA marking, and İzoder, the top association of the insulation industry, have signed a cooperation agreement that will make a significant contribution to the members of the association.

In parallel with the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union, UKCA marking will become mandatory for companies wishing to export their products to these countries as of January 1, 2023.

Efectis Era Avrasya and İzoder aim to organize events that will contribute to informing the members of the association about the subject, and ensure that they receive services at competitive prices, expecting that the signed protocol will be beneficial for both parties and for the industry.

WHAT IS UKCA?

The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessment) marking is the new UK product marking that will be required for certain product lines to be introduced in Great Britain (England, Wales, and Scotland) market post-Brexit. It covers most of the products that previously required CE marking. The decision of the United Kingdom Government to require its own mark, the United Kingdom Conformity Assessment Mark (UKCA), instead of the CE marking, for the products that will be put on the market as of 1st January 1 is of important concern for companies operating within this region.

THE SCOPE OF EFECTIS ERA AVRASYA AND İZODER COOPERATION

The signed cooperation protocol covers the following products that are under AVCP systems 1, 1+ and 2+ :

  • Mineral wool (EN 13162 and EN 14303)
  • Bituminous sheet (EN 13707 and EN 13969)
  • Plastic Rubber-based sheet (EN 13956 and EN 13967)
  • Rubber foam – Class B products (EN 14304) etc.

Product groups under system 3 will be included in the scope of the agreement, depending on the updates of the legislation.
