An interesting opportunity to construct seven substantial open market homes close to a vibrant Dorset market town is being offered by development land and planning specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

“This is an exceptional site with far-reaching views, but within close proximity to Shaftesbury,” explained Mark Chugg, Partner at GTH.

The firm is marketing land off Lower Blandford Road, Shaftesbury, at a guide price of £1.6M.

The land has outline planning consent for seven open market properties plus infrastructure works and extends to 0.75 hectares (1.85 acres).

Previously a plan for 13 homes on the site was turned down, but in consultation with council planners the current scheme for seven larger detached homes emerged.

This proposal was agreed on appeal in February 2024 and is subject to 10 conditions.

There is an existing public right of way across the site and this will be retained. A new access from Lower Blandford Road will be created as part of the development.

The deadline for the submission of offers is 12 noon on Friday, August 16.
