The Midlands office of leisure and hospitality specialists Sidney Phillips are delighted to announce the letting of the Golden Lion, Cinderford.
The busy market town of Cinderford is located on the eastern edge of The Royal Forest of Dean in North West Gloucestershire. The town has a population of some 9,000 and one of the largest settlements in the Forest of Dean, being home to the Forest Vale Industrial Estate which brings much employment to the town and surrounding area. The Forest of Dean is one of the few surviving ancient woodlands in England that covers an area of approximately 110 square kilometres being bounded by the Rivers Wye and Severn, and was originally a hunting ground for the Royal Family. Today it is a mecca for outdoor sports enthusiasts enjoying the forests and rivers, but especially popular with walkers and mountain bikers. There are a number of established tourist attractions within the area with Beechenhurst, Mallards Pike, Clearwell Caves and the Forest of Dean Steam Railway being just a few.
The Golden Lion is situated at the heart of Cinderford Town Centre on the main shopping parade and is surrounded by a number of commercial and retail properties. The substantial property boasts an open plan bar area, former hair salon, four bedroom accommodation and two tier trade patio with additional beer garden.
Although closed when let, the business had previously traded for many years within the town as a traditional public house and more recently as a late-night venue.
Sidney Phillips have sourced and place a new operator for the business, and assisted in granting of a new free-of-tie lease agreement.
