Client
Marks Bloom a firm of chartered accountants located at 60-62 Old London Road Kingston upon Thames.
Background
Longstanding clients of Bonsors, Marks Bloom’s offices are located near to our offices and the company has been based in Kingston upon Thames for a number of years.
The property comprised a ground floor retail unit occupied by the Futon Store and two floors of offices above occupied by Marks Bloom. The building is very prominently situated fronting Kingston’s ring road at the junction of London Road, Fairfield North and Old London Road.
With two of the three partners wishing to retire Marks Bloom merged with Wimbledon based WSM Partners in October 2015 and the partners who owned the building decided it was time to sell.
Requirements
One of Bonsors’ most successful transactions in 2016, the sale involved both agency and professional work.
Solutions Results
We were asked to find a buyer in April and we generated widespread interest before negotiating the sale and its final completion which took place in September. Following completion Bonsors was retained by the purchasers to act for them on the lease renewal of the ground floor retail shop let to Futon Store.
Bonsors were also retained to advise the insolvency practice of WSM Marks Bloom on their relocation to a new office in Kingston upon Thames and have recently acquired a property for them adjoining the River Thames at Spinnaker Court in Hampton Wick.
What our clients said
”Bonsors have been advising the partners of Marks Bloom on our building in Old London Road for many years so it was only natural that we should ask them to sell the property for us. That sale happened in a very efficient and hassle free way and we achieved a price above our expectations, due to the expertise and knowledge of the market that the Bonsors agency team have.”
Andy Whelan partner of WSM Marks Bloom
’The team at Bonsors handled the sale of the property to us in a very professional way and any delays or problems between our offer being accepted and completion were dealt with very smoothly. As a result we had no hesitation in instructing Bonsors to act for us in the lease renewal for the ground floor unit once we had bought the property’’.
