ARMA publishes Covid-19 guidelines for property managers
Posted by The Property Institute on 3rd April 2020 -
With daily updates and restrictions from Government, it is proving a never-ending task to keep on top of events as they unfold. ARMA has produced and published some best practice guidelines to help plug some of the gaps in current guidance, and to everyone in the industry.
ARMA understands that property managers, residents, clients, industry suppliers, Resident Management Companies, Residents Associations, and Right-to-Manage Companies still have a lot of questions and concerns, given some of the current gaps in the Government guidance, and recognises the need for additional specific support and advice for leasehold Property and Estate Managers.
This guide has been put together in collaboration with a number of experts, including ARMA’s opposite numbers from the US, Scotland and Australia, to offer the most comprehensive advice and guidance for those in the leasehold management sector dealing with the pandemic in England and Wales, whilst we await further updates from the Government.
Please be aware that most of the information and guidance is advisory. The NHS, PHE and other qualified local health officials should continue to be the primary source of current information and guidance for any specific cases you are dealing with. The purpose of this guide is to offer general, precautionary guidance. Much of it, by necessity in such a fast-moving environment, is based upon common sense in the absence of government advice, but by following the ARMA guidance it should help the industry to act coherently towards leaseholders and avoid confusion.
The guidelines will be updated as often as we can, so please refer to the ARMA website to ensure you have the most up-to-date version. To view the guidelines, please visit: https://arma.org.uk/news/2020/03/covid-19-best-practice-guidelines-for-property-managers
