BCP Council (Bournemouth): Darryl Howells has secured planning permission for the change of use of a second floor office (Use Class B1(a)) to a personal training studio (Use Class D2) for a site in Westbourne.

As part of the planning submission, Darryl provided evidence that there would be no adverse harm to the vitality or viability of the localised shopping centre.

Darryl also had to provide ‘sound’ planning arguments to justify the proposal in light that no additional vehicular parking was being provided, despite the Council’s adopted Parking SPD requiring additional numbers. The planning officer accepted the rationale that Darryl had presented and approved the scheme using the officer’s delegated powers.

If you have a building that is vacant, and you want to explore the likelihood of securing planning permission for an alternative use then please contact one of our consultants for an informal free consultation.
