Approved: Block of 38 Retirement Flats in Highcliffe, Dorset
Posted by Pure Town Planning on 17th December 2020 -
Neil McKeon of Pure Town Planning has secured outline planning permission for the erection of a 38-unit retirement development in Highcliffe, Christchurch.
The proposal sees the demolition of existing dwellings to Seaton Road and Lymington Road and the erection of a three-storey retirement building on this prominent corner site located on a Prime Transport Corridor.
The approval (designed by Anders Roberts Cheer Architecture Ltd) follows an extended application process and consultation with respective Council Officers. The scale and bulk of the building has been minimised with the 2nd floor level accommodation being set within the roofspace, with sufficient articulation throughout the design to ensure the wider character and appearance of Lymington Road is safeguarded, whilst respecting the sloping gradient on Seaton Road.
The proposal creates high quality retirement living in the sustainable urban area of Highcliffe, without resulting harm to protected trees on site, neighbouring amenity or access and parking provision in the locality.
