Make a splash with this iconic water tower - an excellent and rare opportunity!

Published by Greenslade Taylor Hunt on 2nd December 2019 -

A distinctive structure on the Devon skyline, a disused water tower, set in countryside close to the village of Broadclyst has just come to the market with our Tiverton office.

The tower is in a fabulous location overlooking National Trust land, surrounded by a number of mature Poplar trees.

It is on the market at an auction guide price of £39,950, but interested parties need to be quick as the online auction closes at 12noon on Friday, December 13.

The landmark building, is believed to have been built in the 1940s, to serve the village and continued in service until 2008. The site extends to 0.29 acres and is around five miles from Exeter.

Graeme Biffen, Partner, said: “The sale of the now disused Broadclyst Water Tower affords an excellent and rare opportunity to acquire this striking and iconic structure.”

Vendors South West Water have put the site up for sale and will fully decommission the pipework within the boundaries of the property within six months of completion of the sale.

The property may have potential for alternative uses – it certainly has the look of a Grand Designs project. However it is essential to consult the local planning authority, East Devon District Council, regarding alternative uses, which may be subject to obtaining any necessary consents or approvals.

For more details and to arrange a viewing please contact the Tiverton office on 01884 243000.
